CUPID Final Conference

The Final CUPID Conference will take place on 23–24 June 2026 in Brussels, Belgium. This concluding international event will bring together project partners, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and key stakeholders to present the main outcomes of the CUPID project, share best practices, and explore future directions.

The conference will provide a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and discussion, supporting continued progress in improving cancer prevention for people with intellectual disabilities.

Further information on the conference programme, speakers, and registration will be announced in due course.

For enquiries, please contact:
info@cupidproject.eu

The conference will explore important topics such as:

● Improving cancer prevention for people with intellectual disabilities
● Reducing health inequalities
● Making information and services more accessible
● Learning from people’s lived experiences
● Supporting education, training, and awareness
● Looking ahead to future research, policy, and practice

The target audience includes researchers (including early career researchers), academics, healthcare professionals, people with intellectual disabilities and their supporters, and intellectual disability service providers.

An organising and scientific committee has been established, drawing from the CUPID network.

The conference is expected to include:

● Talks from invited speakers
● Group discussions and panel sessions
● Interactive sessions
● Opportunities to share ideas and learn from others

Further details will be shared in due course.

Accessibility is a central part of this conference.

We are committed to making the event as inclusive as possible. This will include:

● Easy-read materials to support understanding
● Accessible summaries of presentations and discussions
● A focus on clear and inclusive communication
● Opportunities for meaningful participation by people with intellectual disabilities

We aim to create an environment where everyone can engage, contribute, and feel
included.

The Conference will take place both in person and online.
While in-person attendance will be limited and only those with an official e-cost invitation, all are welcome to join online. Most sessions will be live-streamed to support wider participation.

A call for abstracts has been issued, and all submissions will be reviewed by the project’s Scientific Committee. Successful applicants will be notified and may be offered one of the following:

● An in-person presentation
● A short oral presentation (5–10 minutes)
● An e-poster presentation

All accepted abstracts will be included in the conference Book of Abstracts following the event.

Further practical information, including venue details, registration, and logistics, will be provided in due course.

In addition, details of social events will be shared soon.
